For Pentecostals, prayer in unknown tongues is the sign of baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Mișcarea penticostală, apărută la începutul secolului al XX-lea, pune accent pe darurile Duhului Sfânt (vorbirea în limbi, vindecarea, profeția), după modelul Bisericii din Faptele Apostolilor. Cultul Penticostal este, astăzi, cel mai mare cult neoprotestant din România.
