Pe pomelnic se scriu doar prenumele de botez, pe două coloane sau pe două foi: „pentru vii” și „pentru morți” (adormiți). Se dă la lumânărar sau preotului înainte de Liturghie, de obicei împreună cu prescură și o lumânare.
